Click here for directions Featuring: Blues Infusion with special guest Mitch Ryder The situation in Sri Lanka has not, sadly, improved for the children, elders and staff of the Grace Care Center in Trincomalee. Opportunity to help that effort will take the form of “Give Me Love,” a benefit concert for the maintenance and support of the Grace Care Center, a seven-acre home for children and destitute elders, established in 2002 by the non-profit organization, VeAhavta. Recently, an executive committee based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, was charged with responsibility for the daily oversight of the Grace Care Center. A special concert is planned, featuring Blues Infusion, whose members include medical staff from St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. Joining Blues Infusion will be special guest (and VeAhavta friend) Mitch Ryder, the Motor City music legend and voice behind “Devil With a Blue Dress On.” Ryder will also join author and VeAhavta volunteer James A. Mitchell to autograph copies of “It Was All Right: Mitch Ryder’s Life in Music,” published this year by Wayne State University Press. Proceeds from sales of the book after the show will go to VeAhavta. Guests who purchase a $100 VIP “Backstage” ticket can meet Ryder at a pre-concert reception, and will receive an autographed copy of “It Was All Right: Mitch Ryder’s Life in Music.” At the show, donors can sponsor children and elders for a modest sum ($30/month for children; $40/month for elders). Sponsorship is easy to do, online (at http://you-shall-love.org) or by completing and mailing donation forms that will be made available. Sponsors receive a profile of their child or elder (including photographs and a monthly update on the situation in Sri Lanka and VeAhavta’s efforts at Grace Care Center. Please help if you can.
