About Sponsorship

"To save one person is to save a world"
(Mishna, Sanhedrin 4:5)

From its inception, one of VeAhavta's most important goals has been to fulfill its vision by bringing people together through personal relationships. Only through personal relationships can people truly understand what life is like for someone else, and the resulting empathy becomes a fertile soil from which love and community can grow.

In accord with this goal, we developed a program through which donors can financially "sponsor" the children and elders who reside at the Grace Care Center in Sri Lanka. Alternatively, donors can also sponsor two of the other programs at the Center: Grace Daycare and the Grace Vocational Training center.

Through the VeAhavta sponsorship program, sponsors do more than simply donate monthly toward the costs of providing for the residents at the Grace Care Center; they are also encouraged to become involved in the lives of the residents - to write to their sponsored children and elders, to visit them if possible, and - by doing so - offer them the non-material support that they need as human beings.

kidsSponsorship is an extremely rewarding experience for both participants, and many people who start by sponsoring 1 child or 1 elder decide to sponsor more after just a few months.

As a sponsor, you can build a close relationship with your sponsored child or elder through letters and news updates, and learn about his or her daily life and hopes for the future. You can even visit your sponsored child or elder and see first-hand the difference that your love and support are making in their lives.

So, want to make a huge difference in the life of a needy person in Sri Lanka, AND enrich your own life in the process? Then please consider becoming a VeAhavta sponsor. Click here to start sponsoring, or on any of the following links to find out more:
