The information provided on this page should answer most of your questions regarding sponsorship. If you have any questions that are not answered below, please don't hesitate to contact us directly and we'll be glad to help you.

How do I make my sponsorship donations?
When you sign-up to sponsor your donations can be made automatically through your credit card or checking account, or you can simply mail us a check or a money order either monthly or annually.

Are automatic donations safe?
Yes. Automatic deductions are safe and simple, don't cost you anything, and save us considerable processing time and expense. But if you really prefer to make your contributions by check or money order, you may do so either semi-annually or annually.

Will you help me track my contributions?
Yes. Within 30 days after the end of each calendar year, we will automatically send you an annual donation receipt for tax purposes, which will also help you keep track of your contributions.

How long will my sponsorship last?
The length of your sponsorship is entirely up to you, but it will be renewed automatically each year unless you tell us otherwise. Sponsorship is a voluntary, ongoing commitment to provide for the needs of an orphaned or destitute child or elder, and so we urge you to take your commitment to sponsorship very seriously and to continue to offer your help as long as you are able.

May I write to my sponsored child or elder?
Yes! We encourage you to write. Through letters, drawings and photographs, you build a meaningful, personal relationship with your sponsored child or elder. Although he or she will most likely not speak English, your letters will be translated by one of our staff members and any responsive mailings from your child will be translated into English, if necessary, before they are mailed. You may also send pictures and photographs.

May I send gifts to my sponsored child or elder?
As tempting as it may be to send a gift to your child or elder, please don't. Gifts can cause jealousies and rivalries and, quite frankly, any funds you may spend on a gift are better spent providing for the needs of your child or elder through monthly sponsorship. Moreover, packages can be charged a prohibitive import tax. We do, however, encourage sponsors to send flat items like cards, letters, pictures, poems and photographs. A card and a photograph on your child's birthday or on religious holidays would be particularly well received.

May I visit my sponsored child or elder?
Yes. We encourage sponsors to visit and see how your support has made a difference in the life of your sponsored child or elder. To ensure their safety, it is our policy that all visits must be processed through our U.S. office. This processing will include a background check and making arrangements with the Grace Care Center staff.

Can I adopt a child through VeAhavta?
No. VeAhavta does not facilitate the adoption of children from Sri Lanka or from any other country.
